Centreville FFA and St. Joseph County (Mich.) 4-H teams successfully competed at the Michigan State FFA and 4-H meats judging contest held at Michigan State University on April 20.
The senior division FFA team from Centreville placed second overall in the contest. Members of that team were Jenna Beeker, Mark Trowbridge, Austin Pueschel and Courtney Yeager. All four individuals placed in the top 10 of the FFA contest.
Trowbridge, Pueschel and Yeager were also the second place senior division 4-H team representing St. Joseph County. They placed first in the quality/yield grading portion of the contest. Yeager, Pueschel and Trowbridge placed third, sixth and seventh respectively as individuals in the senior 4-H contest.
The St. Joseph County 4-H junior team placed first overall in the junior division of the contest. That team included Clay Decker, Dale Harker, Ben Littlefield and Brady Littlefield All four team members plus Jenna Beeker were the top five individuals in the junior 4-H division. Coaching the teams were Sally Stuby and Melissa Souva. Chaperones assisting the teams were Eva Beeker and Andrea Littlefield. Ken Klopfenstein of Klopfenstein and Ware Processing assisted with training.
