Warsaw FFA Compete in Leadership

Members of the Warsaw FFA team competed in the District 2 Leadership Development events at Rochester High School on March 10.

Morgan Smith placed first and qualified for state in the agriculture sales demonstration. Raina Armey and Valerie Messmore placed third in the animal science demonstration. Jacob Baker placed first and qualified for state in the discover degree plant and soil science demonstration. Baker also placed sixth in the discover degree FFA creed speaking. In the discovery degree animal science demonstration, Bailey Stutzman placed third.

The team of Jacob Baker, Dakotah Easterday, Brystal Leasure, and Bailey Stutzman placed first and qualified for state in the discovery degree FFA quiz bowl. Morgan Smith placed fourth in the extemporaneous public speaking. Bailey Hanes and Taryn Whetstone placed third in the food science demonstration. Reagan Rowland placed fifth in the freshman FFA creed speaking contest.

Ciara Stout placed first and qualified for state in the horticulture and landscaping demonstration. Zach Howard and Grant Reed finished third in the natural resources demonstration while Morgan Smith placed sixth in the plant and soil science demonstration. In the FFA quiz bowl division, Bailey Hanes, Valerie Messmore, Reagan Rowland and Katy Shepherd placed fourth and Ciara Stout finished third in the scrapbook: multimedia contest. Raina Armey placed first and qualified for state in the scrapbook contest.

FFA members who earned proficiency awards include: Lucas Howett, second, agricultural services; Zach Howard, first, agriculture education; Morgan Smith, first, diversified horticulture production; Abbi Curtis, fifth, diversified livestock production; Sydney Fox, third, poultry production; Payton Kreis, agriculture processing; Morgan Smith, agriculture sales; and Ciara Stout, agriculture communications.
