Published: Friday, March 9, 2018

The Indiana State Fair has opened entries, and the 2018 Indiana State Fair Entry Books with registration and deadline information, are live online for all competitions such as best apple pie, best cookie jar and best hand-pieced quilt.

Competitors can choose from 38 departments, including vegetables, livestock, photography and textiles. All ages are welcome to compete for cash prizes and 8,292 blue ribbons to be awarded.

"The great Indiana State Fair celebrates the best of the Hoosier state," said Indiana State Fair Executive director Cindy Hoye. "That not only includes Indiana's rich history and culture, but also its people and their unique talents. I invite everyone to consider submitting an entry and sharing their accomplishments with more than 900,000 fairgoers this August."

According to Indiana State Fair Board President Todd Uhl, there are several new features included in this year's competitive events, competitions and livestock shows but one of the most exciting additions is a new event called the Supreme Drive, to be held Aug. 12 at the coliseum. Supreme 4-H ewes, dairy females and gilts will be selected during the event.

The Indiana State Fair draws entries from across state, with 91 different counties represented in 2017. The 2018 Indiana State Fair Entry Books are available online at www.indianastatefair.com/statefair/competitionscontests/.
