Stutsman Wins 4-H Achievement Award

Erica Stutsman was named the overall achievement award winner at the Elkhart County 4-H Dairy Feeder Calf Club's annual banquet on Sunday in Goshen. A 10-year member, Stutsman served as 2017-18 president of the dairy feeder calf club.

Other achievement award winners were: Carlee Hostetler, Brad Delio, Tyler Hahn, Josh Wuthrich, Grace Brenneman, Brad Chupp and Abby Hahn.

Herdsmanship awards were presented to Daniel and Thomas Stutzman, Dillon and Garret Weldy, Adalyn Dunlap, Carson Golden, Brooklyn and Carissa Goshert, Elizabeth Hertsel, Trajan Schwartz, and Garret and Lacy Stoltzfus.

The grand and reserve champion dairy feeder calves this year were shown by Hannah Leatherman, champion heavyweight, and Kaitlin Bailey, champion light heavyweight. Lilliana Yoder exhibited the reserve champion heavyweight calf, and Josh Wuthrich brought the reserve champion light heavyweight calf.

Zach Klotz and Lauren Mikel showed the grand and reserve champion calves, respectively, in the mediumweight division. In light mediumweight, the winners were Rachel Leatherman, champion, and Wyatt Mast, reserve champion.

Winners in the lightweight division were Trenton Lee, champion, and LaDainian Miller, reserve champion.

Showmanship winners at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair were: Zach Klotz, master; Keaton Kitson, senior; Riley Kitson, junior; Ellie Walker, beginner; and Lilliana Yoder, greenhand.

Officers for the 2017-18 year were: Erica Stutsman, president; Emerson Mast, vice president; Keaton Kitson, secretary; and Zach Klotz, treasurer.

Ten-year members of the dairy feeder calf club were: Jodie Chupp, Cullen Cover, Brad Delio, Morgan Evans, Natalie Garber, Alyssa Griffiths, Tyler Hahn, Katelynn Hancock, Carlee Hostetler, Timothy Hostetler, Christina Jarvis, Gavin Kercher, Courtney Lengacher, Drea Lockwood, Emerson Mast, Westin Miller, Erica Stutsman, Dylan Trick and Greta Yoder.

Ken Metzler is the organizational leader. Assistant leaders are Tim Stutsman, Erica Brenneman, Dale Miller, Lydell Troyer, Brandi Kitson, Jodi Evans, Brad Morehouse and Bridget Christner.
