Area 4-H'ers were among the big winners in the Indiana State Fair's 4-H Grand Drive Sunday night in the coliseum. After tight competitions, several of the exhibitors were crowned grand and reserve champions.

During the event, 4-H members showed livestock of various species, weights and classes on the prestigious dirt in the coliseum. Categories included: dairy steer, meat goat wether, meat goat wether dam, market lamb, market barrow, beef heifer and beef steer.

Austin Hesters, a 10-year 4-H'er from LaPorte County, showed the grand champion dairy steer, which weighed 1,565 pounds and was the winner in Class 6 of the dairy steer show. Hesters also exhibited this dairy steer at the LaPorte County Fair and won grand champion.

In the market lamb show, Harper Henney of Steuben County brought a Natural Color lamb that was chosen as the grand champion market lamb. The reserve champion was the champion Hampshire exhibited by Caleb Lechlitner of Kosciusko County.

Logan Walter of Huntington County was the big winner in the rabbit show, exhibiting the grand champion meat pen.
