Emily Zimmer is currently a senior at Penn High School, where she is on track to receive a CORE 40 Diploma with academic honors in June. She was selected as Penn-Harris Twp's 4-H Outstanding Junior Leader in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2014, she was chosen as St. Joseph County's 4-H Junior Ambassador.
Since 2014, she has earned 28 national championships for rabbit projects at the American Rabbit Breeders Assn's. national conventions, including being named national champion youth achievement and national champion management.
She has earned the 4th degree (Merit, Honor, Excellence, Distinction) from the National Speech and Debate Assn. and holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.
Emily plans to pursue veterinary medicine at Purdue University to eventually become a large animal veterinarian.
Emily received the Leadership Accomplishment Scholarship in 2017, sponsored by David and Kendra Weidmayer. Emily is only one of the 43 recipients who received Accomplishment Scholarships from the Indiana 4-H Foundation in 2017.
