Kelly Earns Service Award

Robert Kelly, Elkhart County Extension educator for 4-H Youth Development and Ag and Natural Resources received the National Assn. of Extension 4-H Agents "Achievement in Service Award" at the national conference in Columbus, Ohio.
The Achievement in Service Award is awarded to 4-H Professionals that have three to seven years of service. Robert's career began with Purdue Extension in Elkhart County in August 2012. Nationally, he serves as the North Central Regional Director for the National Assn. of Extension 4-H Agents.
Kelly has been active in creating and enhancing 4-H opportunities for the 4-H youth. He started a teens as teachers biotechnology program which provides older 4-H members the skills to teach hands on science lessons to younger youth. The last two years he also coordinated the "Animal Science Day Camps," teaching youth the science behind livestock production and where food comes from.
Kelly has also been involved on the state level serving on the planning committee for the Indiana 4-H Dairy Youth Academy and networked with the issues based action team that developed the IN Work Curriculum.
