Allen County 4-H Fair Crowns Livestock Champions

Catelynn Hockemeyer displayed her championship credentials at the Allen County 4-H Fair beef judging contest.

Hockemeyer exhibited the grand champions for market beef, junior heifers and beef feeder calves.

Both the grand champion and the reserve grand champion in female market beef were exhibited by Dylan Paul.

Ethan Beaupre showed the reserve grand champion in market beef, Gwen Brubaker showed the reserve grand champion junior heifer and Ashleigh Hadley presented the reserve grand champion beef feeder calf.

Division champions were shown by: Hockemeyer (Chianina steer; junior heifer and beef feeder calf), Beaupre (crossbred steer), Hadley (Hereford steer), Marcus DeBolt (Maine Anjou steer), Paul (Angus heifer and commercial Heifer), Evan Brubaker (Maintainer heifer), Addison Richardson (market heifer) and Gwen Brubaker (Shorthorn heifer).

Autumn Smith was the overall beef showman champion and the senior division winner, Holly Howard was the top intermediate beef showman and Hockemeyer was the junior winner.

Dairy

Myra Berning showed the grand champion dairy cow, the Holstein breed champion and the Holstein reserve champion, and the Holstein senior champion and reserve.

Justin Wagner showed the reserve grand champion dairy cow, the Brown Swiss breed champion and the reserve champion, and the Brown Swiss senior and reserve champions. Wagner was also the overall dairy showmanship champion and senior showman champ.

The grand champion dairy heifer was exhibited by Joylin McCloskey who also had the Holstein junior champ. Calvin Lee showed the reserve grand champion dairy heifer and the reserve champion Holstein junior.

Swine

Madilyn Malcolm showed the grand champion gilt and Cole Buesching exhibited the reserve.

Caleb Kneubuhler exhibited the grand champion barrow while Dakota Hitzemann showed the reserve.

Landen King presented the champion pair of barrows.

Gilt breed champions were: Taylor Kneubuhler (Berkshire), Kennedy Harrell (Chester White), Buesching (crossbred), Holly Howard (Duroc and spot), Malachi Malcolm (Hampshire), Danica Dafforn (Hereford), Makenna Malcolm (Landrace), Marcus DeBolt (Poland China), Lindsay Stone (Tamworth) and Madilyn Malcolm (Yorkshire).

Barrow breed champions were: Brooke Kneubuhler (Berkshire), Lauren Dicke (Chester White), Caleb Kneubuhler (crossbred), Dylan Paul (Duroc), Reese Knowles (Hampshire), Ashlynn Chester (Hereford), Larry Sible (Landrace), Logan Kurtz (Poland China), Hintzemann (spotted), Calvin Lee (Tamworth), and Landen King (Yorkshire).

Madilyn Malcolm was named overall showmanship champ, Nathan Sible was the No. 1 senior, MaKenna Malcolm was the top intermediate, Caleb Kneubuhler the junior winner and Knowles the best rookie.

In the swine carcass show, Sible showed the grand champion barrow carcass on foot and Howard had the reserve grand champion. MaKenna Malcolm exhibited the grand champion gilt carcass on foot and Howard showed the reserve grand champion.

The grand champion barrow carcass on scan and the grand champion gilt carcass on scan belonged to Lucia Warner. Issac Warner had the reserve barrow carcass on scan and Evan Brubaker showed the reserve gilt carcass on scan.

Goats

In the dairy goat show, Lucia Shannon showed the grand champion dairy goat senior doe and Hailey King exhibited the reserve grand champion.

Senior doe division champions were: King (Alpine), Lydia Dyer (LaMancha), Tate Bonin (recorded grade), Shannon (Saanen), Evan Brubaker (Toggenburg) and Gretchen Mann (unregistered).

The grand champion dairy goat junior doe was led by Gwen Brubaker and Dylan Paul showed the reserve grand champion.

Junior doe division champions were: Tate Bonin (Alpine), Kai Imrick (LaMancha), Lydia Dyer (Nigerian dwarf), Carmen Miller (Nubian), Felicity Imrick (Saanen), Gwen Brubaker (Toggenburg) and Paul (unregistered)

Bridget Bane showed the grand champion Nigerian wether and Aiden Bane had the reserve grand champion.

Bonin showed the mother/daughter champion, Gwen Brubaker exhibited the produce of dam champion and Evan Brubaker exhibited the get of sire champion.

The overall dairy goat showman championship was won by Gwen Brubaker, Evan Brubaker was senior champ, Shannon the top intermediate and Caleb Kneubuhler led the juniors.

In the meat show, Gwen Brubaker showed the grand champion and Evan Brubaker exhibited the reserve.

Parker Bonin showed the grand champion dairy market goat and Gwen Brubaker showed the reserve.

Catelynn Hockemeyer led the grand champion meat goat into the ring and Caleb Kneubuhler showed the reserve.

Senior doe meat division champions were Keilyn Moody (24-30 months) and Tate Bonin (over 36 months and meat breed).

Yearling doe meat division champions were: Gwen Brubaker (meat breed, and 16-20 months), Moody (12-16 months) and Kyleigh Cripps (20-24 months).

Junior doe meat division champions were: Moody (0-3 months), Gwen Brubaker (3-6 months and meat breed), Kneubuhler (6-9 months) and Lauren Dicke.

Tate Bonin showed the mother/daughter champion and the get of sire champ, Evan Brubaker exhibited the produce of dam champion, and Gwen Brubaker showed the county born and bred breeding doe and the county born and bred market goat.

In the Pygmy show, Mallory Schaefer showed the yearling doe champion and the champion doe while Morgan Schaefer exhibited the Pygmy wether champ. Mallory Schaefer also showed the Angora show doe champion.

Gwen Brubaker won the senior meat goat showmanship championship, Evan Brubaker was the top intermediate showman and Merek Malcolm was the junior winner.

Sheep

Holly Howard exhibited the grand champion ewe and Myra Berning showed the reserve grand champion. Howard also won the heavyweight and lightweight wether titles.

Catelynn Hockemeyer showed both the grand champion and the reserve grand champion market lambs and won the mediumweight wether championship.

The champion pair of lambs also belonged to Hockenmeyer while Howard showed the champion commercial ewe.

Maggie Warner showed the champion Dorset ewe and Berning had the top Hampshire ewe.

Madilyn Malcolm won the overall showmanship title, Dylan Paul was the senior champ, MaKenna Malcolm was the intermediate winner and Joseph Warner took the junior showmanship title.
