Youth Stock Show Planned

The following is from Allegan County Fair.
As you have most likely heard, the 2020 Allegan County Fair has been canceled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Michigan 4-H has suspended all face-to-face activities.
While this is disappointing news for many people in our area, it has been devastating to many of the Allegan County 4-H livestock participants. Most of these kids work tirelessly throughout the year raising their livestock and look forward to the culmination of their project at the fair. They have put in a lot of time and effort in raising these animals and have a monetary investment as well. Unfortunately, the annual 4-H livestock auction was not deemed to be possible this year, due to lack of processing and resale markets for the animals.
A group of youth supporters, parents and volunteers has joined to put on the Allegan County Stock Show as an option for our youth members to showcase their efforts this year. The show will take place at the Allegan County Fairgrounds on Sept. 12, 13 and 19 and will be a private event to meet the state's health regulations. Allegan County youths will be able to show their market beef, dairy beef, sheep, goats and swine at the shows. The Allegan County Fairgrounds has generously allowed us to use their facilities at no charge.
We are asking for your support to help make this event a success for our participants. Sponsorship monies raised will first go to cover the expenses of the show (judges, awards, etc.). Additional amounts raised will be divided equally amongst the participants of each show and awarded as premiums as an effort to help offset the costs of raising these projects. We hope to be able to help all the youth cover their input expenses for these animals so they will be able to continue to participate in 4-H youth livestock projects in future years.
