Out of over 30 contestants, Miss "Superior Axle" Rebecca Brewer was named the 2024 Elkhart County 4-H Fair queen last Friday in Goshen. Brewer is the daughter of Chris and Linda Brewer.

"It feels great," Brewer responded when asked how she felt to be selected as the fair queen. "I'm so excited to go out and talk to people at the fair."

First runnerup in the fair queen contest was Savannah Gregg, second runnerup was Hannah Templeton, third runnerup was Kylee Sark, and fourth runnerup was Sage Risser. Riley Kitson was named Miss Congeniality.

Brewer graduated from Northridge High School in June of 2021 and from Vogue College of Beauty Culture in May of 2023.

With her cosmetology license, Brewer works at The Getaway Salon in Middlebury where she's made lasting relationships with clients and even trained new talent in her service.

A 10-year 4-H'er, Brewer participated in both Saddle Club and Dog Club. Other interests of Brewer's are singing, cake decorating and gardening. Brewer also enjoys hunting deer, coyotes, squirrels and foxes when they are in season.

Brewer's advice to any future fair queen contestants is this: "You can get so much out of the competition other than winning. You can form sisterhoods, you can gain confidence, skills that you're gonna use in (interviewing) for the rest of your life."
