Published: Friday, December 13, 2024

Cookie dough:

2¼ c. all-purpose flour

½ tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. baking powder

1½ c. sugar

2 oz. cream cheese, cut into pieces

6 Tbsp. salted butter, melted

1/3 c. vegetable oil

1 egg

1 Tbsp. milk

2 tsp. vanilla extract

Frosting:

2½ c. powdered sugar

5 Tbsp. melted butter

1 tsp. vanilla extract

3 Tbsp. milk

Sprinkles for decorating

Preheat oven to 350°. Line cookie sheets with baking mat or parchment paper. Whisk flour, baking soda and baking powder together, set aside.

Using a large mixing bowl add sugar, cream cheese and warm melted butter and whisk together. Whisk in oil. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Whisk until smooth. Add flour mixture and mix with a spoon or rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.

Take a large scoop of dough (about 2 Tbsp. worth) and roll into a ball. Place on prepared cookie sheets. Use the bottom of a drinking glass dipped in sugar to flatten dough balls slightly. Bake 11-13 minutes or until edges are just starting to brown.

To make the frosting combine all 4 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, mix ingredients until smooth. Frost cooled cookies and sprinkle with sprinkles. —Makes 2 dozen.
