Wawasee FFA Members Win 5 District Contest Titles

The Wawasee FFA Chapter participated in the District Leadership Contest held at Whitko Career Academy on March 14. Twenty Wawasee students participated in 17 different contests which included speeches, interviews, demonstrations, preparing a display exhibit, and a multimedia scrapbook.
Results were as follows:
First place champions: grain production SAE—Wyatt Schafer; exhibit—Jace Beer, Carter Grady, Abbi Harris, Keira Lortie, Wyatt Schafer and many more; freshman extemporaneous public speaking—Aidan Beer; premier leadership—Keira Lortie, and novice natural resources—Colten Lortie and Cohen Tom.
Second place: natural resources demonstration—Lucas Wilkinson, and prepared public speaking—Katy Eppert.
Third place: multimedia scrapbook—Taelyn Tom and Abbi Harris; novice animal science demonstration —Anna Bowling and Lyric Lonjin.
Fourth place: horticulture demonstration—Abbi Harris and Ava Mock; plant and soil science demonstration—Coltin Bucher; food science—Emerson Krull, and persuasive essay—Jazlyn Weimer.
Additional participants: include animal science demonstration—Coltin Bucher and Sophia Higgins, and quiz bowl participants—Aidyn Archer, Page Allen, Jace Beer and Will Loher.
District winners will vie for the state title in each contest area in June at the Indiana FFA State Convention.
