The North Maimi FFA dairy judging team recently earned the title of reserve national champions at the National FFA convention in Indianapolis in October. This has qualified them for the opportunity to judge at the Royal Highland Show in Scotland.
The North Miami dairy judging team will arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 18 to compete at the Royal Highland Show, with additional stops at St. Andrews – the birthplace of golf – a ferry ride across the Irish Sea, the Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle and the Charleville Agricultural Show in County Cork, where the team will once again compete.
Other activities planned include visiting several dairy farms in Scotland and Ireland, enjoying some Irish dancing, visiting Westminster Abbey, touring the London Eye, museums and many other attractions. The team will return to the U.S. on July 1.
The team is now raising funds for their trip. Contributions and questions can be directed to Jones at 4750 N. 450 E., Rochester, IN 46975. Checks should be made payable to the North Miami Ag Advisory. For questions, call 574/204-3442.
