Matt Yeater Leads the Exchange
Published: Friday, October 2, 2026
For the past century, The Farmer's Exchange has been guided by four generations of the Yeater family. The weekly farm paper is currently owned by Matt Yeater, who became publisher on Nov. 1, 2014, succeeding his father, Steve.
The announcement of Matt's promotion was published in the Nov. 7, 2014 issue. Like his father, Matt served as the business manager before moving up to the paper's top position.
An Indiana University graduate, Matt has worked at the Exchange since 2003. Prior to that time, he worked as a certified public accountant. During his time at the paper, he introduced new technologies, including the pagination system used to design pages. He also oversees all the commercial printing work the company performs on behalf of customers.
In recognition of the company's 100th anniversary, the Exchange will host an open house on Nov. 7 at Sunnyside Park in New Paris. It will be an opportunity to meet the third and fourth generations and current employees and learn about the history of the paper. A special section commemorating the anniversary will be published that week.
